Place de la Cathdrale, Albi

The small figures at the foot of the wall give some idea of the colossal scale of the Cathédrale Sainte-Cécile in Albi. The building is 40 metres high and an astonishing 113m in length.

The tracks at Albi station

Albi is the principal town of the Tarn departément and its main railway station was once clearly very busy. However, now only two sets of tracks are in use.

The old bridge in Bellac

The medieval bridge in the ‘Quartiers pittoresque’ of the town of Bellac. Taken from a riverside cafe where, unfortunately, the quality of the cuisine falls far short of the quality of the location.

Room at the top

A typical staircase in a typical Paris hotel. Our room was on the top (sixth) floor. And, as usual, the lift is about as big as an upright refrigerator.

And that’s our grand-daughter smelling the roses outside that spectacularly floribund house.
