Leading lines, anyone?

A little 30-minute constitutional last Friday morning led us down a narrow and rarely used country road with pastureland on each side.. The low autumn sun cast long shadows and the tractor tyre tracks at the entrance to this field produced enough leading lines to make anybody happy.

Tracks in the earth

After a lot of heavy rain earlier in the month, the past week or so has been warmer and sunnier (it won’t last). This has helped to dry out the previously sodden ground, but nonetheless there is still ample evidence in the surrounding fields of the passage of farm tractors through the mud.

Muddy tracks

There are many ‘roads’ like this one around here – access tracks for agricultural equipment. You certainly wouldn’t want to try and get your shiny new roadster along here, or even your flash SUV, probably.

It has been a very wet winter here and the ground is very muddy, which accounts for the almost three-dimensional set of tractor tracks in this image.
