Cee’s Black & White Challenge this week is ‘bigger than a bread box’ – or, indeed, ‘breadbin’.
You could hardly claim that that’s a particular limiting factor in making a choice of what to post.
So here’s a very big church located adjacent to the Argentomagus archaeological site.

If I want to see something old, I just need to look in the mirror. Fear not though, I’ll spare you (and me) a self-portrait in response to this week’s Tuesday Photo Challenge theme, set by Frank at Dutch Goes The Photo!
Instead – and infinitely more interesting – here is an image of a Roman-era funerary statue recovered from archaeological excavations at Argentomagus, in central France. Is it just me, or does he look like he’s wearing a beanie hat?

I saw this striking carved head on display in the museum attached to the Argentomagus archaeological site – a Roman town built over an Iron Age village – in the Indre département of central France.
