Grasshopper
This (deceased) grasshopper came to rest on the decking of our swimming pool. Even I had time to focus on it properly.
(Apologies to Cee for the creepy-crawly, but I don’t make a habit of it)

It is a Praying Mantis and great photo in still life 😁
Ah, okay then. I’m afraid that my knowledge of entomology doesn’t stretch any further than ‘it’s green’ and ‘there’s lots of grasshoppers round here’
