“Rose-red city, half as old as time”
There is nowhere on earth quite like Petra. The sheer scale of the monuments themselves is mind-boggling, but the natural context of weathered sandstone in which they are set may be even more so (spot the human figure).

Lens-Artists Challenge #295 – Rock Your World
Yes! This! I did have to look twice for the person on the horse. It brings such perspective to the place. When I was doing some reading about how I wanted to organize my thoughts. I came across “Petra” I didn’t know it meant, rock or stone in greek. I wrote that at the top of my paper with hopes I might use it. I am tickled to have you include a photo from there, a great one at that! Thank you.
One of my favorite places ever – magnificent beyond words. Thanks for the beautiful reminder
Including the person really helps to get a perspective on the scope of the image. Great composition!
Awesome. Petra is a must for inclusion. π
Goodness, this is fantastic. I’m not sure what I like more, the figure or the textures on the rock.
