Weekly Photo Challenge: Orange

This week’s challenge asks us to feature the colour orange in a gallery. Ours not to reason why, so here are three images heavy on the orange:

1) A spectacular sunset over Beverley in Yorkshire

2) Part of the innards of a vintage tractor, taken at the display of old-time cars and agricultural machinery in Lesterps

3) All I know about this is that it’s a flower and I took the photograph in Abu Dhabi. Anybody know what it is?

(Incidentally, apart from some cropping of the second and third, there’s been no post-processing of any of these images. Which is unusual for me.)

Photography 101: Colo(u)r

This photograph was taken earlier this summer at an exhibition of old agricultural equipment in the nearby village of Lesterps. It shows the engine casing of a very well cared-for old tractor.

I haven’t post-processed the image in any way, apart from a crop for reasons of aesthetic balance. It really is this colo(u)r.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Relic

Recently, I went to a display of old cars and farming machinery in the village of Lesterps, not far from here. I now have many, many pictures of ancient tractors and some quite cool vintage cars, but this image of a child’s tricycle from yesteryear is perhaps a bit more than just a record shot.
