When this petrol pump was new – perhaps a century or more ago – it could well have serviced the fuel requirements of the Yorkshire town of Beverley on its own. Nowadays of course, it’s simply an historical curio.

The vendange (vintage) is the annual wine harvest, when the grapes are picked from the vines. It’s usually done around late September or early October, the exact time depending on meteorological vagaries.
The 2021 vintage is probably going to be a shocker because of the awful weather we’ve had this year. However, this image, from a chateau in the Bordeaux region, harks back to a more promising time.

‘Pink’ is the theme chosen by Frank for this week’s Tuesday Challenge. I suspect that flowers will prove to be the most common source of inspiration: it was certainly my initial idea and I have a fair few images in my library. However, I decided to try to look for something a little different and came up with this.
In the centre of the French city of Limoges you can find this vintage carousel, or merry-go-round. It’s kept under wraps through the winter, of course, but during the summer tourist season it’s in full swing. It’s well-looked after and in excellent condition considering its age.
And, as you can see, it’s also very pink in parts:
