We’re still in Chabanais this week, for a whole row of mouldering doors in a little courtyard just next to the former Mairie.
This is the old Mairie, in its commanding position at the head of the bridge that crosses the Vienne:
But look to the right of that image. Better still, go into that little courtyard and you’ll find this little trove of very tatty doors:
Thursday Doors 7 November 2019
Oooh, these are lovely. I guess decay makes me happy. The doors themselves are cool, but the chipped and battered walls framing them are also special. Thanks for sharing.
I like it better like this, so much texture, so much story, so much rust ๐๐ป
There’s something this kind of rural decay that is both sad and beautiful. Great shots ๐
A treasure trove of tatty doors for sure. I was in France when Jacques Chirac died and I see he has a street in your first photo.

Thank you. Iโm sure there are streets named after Jacques Chirac, but in this instance the signpost is indicating the direction to the nearby village of Chirac.
