‘Ornate’: made in an intricate shape or decorated with complex patterns.
This is a detail from a stained glass window in St. Mary’s Church in Beverley, Yorkshire that fits the bill for this week’s challenge. The glass itself is complex and decorative, and so is the intricately-shaped stone framework that holds it together.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Ornate
Beautiful shot! I love to take pictures of stained glass windows! It reminds me Chartres Cathedral in France.
Thank you. I’m a big fan of stained glass too, and it was a toss-up between this one or something from Chartres, although the problem I have there is more pronounced converging verticals because the windows are so high up.
Yes you are right! I made some pictures insude but mostly close-ups. They are here: https://viajemosblog.wordpress.com/2014/12/31/chartres-la-catedral-gotica-y-su-entorno/
thanks. Work took me to Beverly once and i was delighted to take a later train to look around the Minster. Regards Thom
