Emily, our nearest neighbour, keeps some chickens on a little plot just across the road from her house. They spend the day foraging around the patch of ground, but at night they’re shut up in this old building with doors that, it’s fair to say, have seen better days – although not for quite a while.

Great old doors.
I’m sure the hens don’t mind. π

I’m sure you right, although I doubt that they’ve ever actually been consulted on the matter.
Beautiful in a sad nostalgic kind of way. Great shot π

A very solid ‘hen-house’ that even the most cunning fox would have trouble entering. Great photo!
Thank you. It beats the foxes, although Emily has lost hens to a fouine (a vicious weasel-like creature, also known as a stone marten). We had one living in our roofspace for a while. I’d describe it as a nightmare except that we never got any sleep.
I love it! Pretty fancy hen house – even though it is a little ‘tired’. Those hens will be safe for sure!
Love it!

Wow, I wonder how old it is. It’s definitely got character.
