Tuesdays of Texture: Singer

A few months ago Madame realised a lifelong ambition and acquired a vintage Singer sewing machine – similar to the one on which she herself originally learned to sew.  At the moment, it’s sitting in our entrance hall in front of a bright and cheerful quilt that hangs on the wall: one interesting texture set against another.

  1. Drooling about the Vintage Singer! My grandma has one, but it’s a bit newer than this I think. Love it. Thanks for sharing 🙂

    • I looked up the serial number and apparently this one was made in the first half of 1917 in Glasgow specifically for the French market, so it will be a hundred years old shortly. I plan to make a whole gallery of images of it at some stage: it’s very photogenic.
