We have a lot of those here, too, unfortunately. They seem so forlorn.
They made me think of Sedan, but I guess empty storefronts are everywhere these days.
Sadly this is an all too common scene in so many places. A sign of the changing times I guess.
We lost the only cobbler for miles around recently. He operated in a basement space and it was always so fascinating to watch him work. Your post brought made me think of him and yes, so many lost small shops everywhere.
