This week’s challenge calls for an image with the subject in the centre of the frame that somehow portrays loneliness.
Tricky. Clearly, isolating the subject is a sine qua non in order to achieve the required mood, but for the additional poignancy of loneliness here is a broken egg, which must have been stolen from a nest, most likely by a predatory bird which then dropped it.

This detail of a water feature in Sydney could stand on its own as an abstract or geometric image, but the curious seagull brings life to it (quite literally).

For Frank’s challenge this week – ‘Bird’ – I need to apologise for re-posting an image I’ve used before. The fact is that I’m away from home for the next couple of weeks or so, and as the technicalities of the cloud are beyond me, I only have access to my WordPress photo library.
Anyway, with that confession out of the way, here’s an ostrich making his feelings felt while we were out on a safari drive a few years ago.
