Outside the Notaire’s

These brass plaques can be seen outside the offices of Notaires (public notaries) all over France. However, they’re not all as aesthetically framed against a rough-cast wall as this one, in Confolens.

Abandoned Railway, Chabanais

On a heavily overcast day there’s more than a touch of gloomy sadness about the now unused railway lines that run through the town of Chabanais.

Keep Out

I spotted this barred window on an old building in the village of Bussière-Poitevine and it seemed perfect for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week. It reminds me of one of those ‘coffee-time’ magazine puzzles where you have to find as many squares and rectangles as possible in the diagram.

Looking down on St-Germain-de-Confolens
