This week, Cee is looking for a photo dominated by a single colour.
This is a firework I captured in the New Year’s Eve display in Sydney a few years ago. Photographing fireworks is always a bit of a hit-and-miss affair, but I think I got lucky with this one.

Cee’s theme for her Fun ‘Foto’ Challenge this week is ‘orange and pink’. Funny, I could have sworn that when it was first listed it was orange and blue. Or maybe I’m getting too old for this malarkey.
Anyway, I don’t have any images of orange and pink together (why on earth would I?), so here’s an orange and blue I made earlier. A performing seal at Taronga Zoo in Sydney.

For this week’s Fun ‘Foto’ Challenge, Cee wants to see at least four colours of the rainbow. This windsock with a full rainbow of colours was seen at the annual Air Show at nearby Blond.

Well, it’s certainly true that Black & White can be fun, so why shouldn’t it be a subject for Cee’s Fun ‘Foto’ challenge?
In the petrified caves (‘grottes pétrifiantes’) near Villandry, a steady drip of water percolating through the limestone has produced some bizarre shapes, such as this, which reminds me of something from the fevered imagination of H P Lovecraft.

Cee’s theme for her Fun ‘Foto’ Challenge this week is ‘blue and yellow’ – always a harmonious combination.
As it happens, the colour scheme of our kitchen is blue and yellow, and the endlessly talented Madame has made table mats, napkins, covers for appliances and many other things to match the theme. Including this wall hanging:

Based in Nantes, the French biscuit manufacturers Lu (Lefevre Utile) are long-established and happily still producing, even if not in their original factory. Their ‘petits écoliers’ chocolate biscuits – especially the plain chocolate version – cannot be recommended too highly.
Apart from the product itself, Lu’s publicity material is also iconic. This image is of a pair of their advertising signs from around the turn of the last century, and was taken in the Chateau des Ducs museum in Nantes.

There are plenty of farm animals round these parts to fulfil Cee’s Fun ‘Foto’ Challenge for this week.
However, for something a little out of the ordinary I decided to avoid using any of my images of cattle, horses or sheep and instead am using a photograph I took at a nearby alpaca farm.

Right up until the most recent post in the Fun Foto Challenge, this week’s theme has been ‘candid’, but now it’s ‘catching people unawares’. It’s too late for me to change now, so you’re getting the post I’d already prepared.
At a recent Sunday market in the town of Chabanais there was, for no obvious reason, a small pen containing a few miserable-looking donkeys. The baleful stare that this one gave me suggests that he wasn’t happy to be photographed – or to be there in the first place.
