All along the Corniche in Abu Dhabi runs a park. There are play areas and plenty of items of architectural interest, including this water feature. I particularly like the contrast between the rigid geometry of the mosaic and the concrete on the one hand and the running (falling) water on the other.
It being Abu Dhabi, naturally enough the sun was shining, so the light, shade and shadow add further interest to the composition.

This week, Frank has chosen the theme of ‘Healthy’ for his Tuesday Photo Challenge. A bit tricky, but this greengrocer’s stall in the Rialto Market in Venice has an abundance of stuff that’s supposed to be good for you:

This week’s Tuesday Challenge on Dutch Goes The Photo! was to post an image containing the three key photographic colours of red, green and blue. Simple enough, you might think but although I have lots of shots with two out of the three, there weren’t so many that included all of them.
However, I found this: it’s a windsock at a small local airfield that has an annual summer air show. As you can see from the bend of the pole to which it is attached, it was quite a windy day, but a fast exposure (1/750) effectively froze the movement to reveal all the colours.

Today I am participating for the first time – as it moves into its second year – in the Tuesday Photo Challenge hosted by Frank at Dutch Goes The Photo!
The theme for this week is ‘Mystery’. This photograph shows part of the astonishing painted ceiling in the crypt of the village church of Gargilesse, in central France. Clearly, it’s a religious – specifically Christian and even more specifically Roman Catholic – theme, and as such some of the imagery is familiar, but there’s also some that’s a mystery, at least to me.
