The ‘superette’ in our local village is pretty well stocked with fresh and prepared food, the more so at this time of yea. This is the display of some of their Christmas specials from this year, including such local….er, delicacies as veal sweetbread vol-au-vents and beef tongue in sauce.
We’re French, but not that French, so we stuck to roast beef…

Cee’s Midweek Challenge seeks a subject that contains the letter G.
This box of fresh eggs comes from the local village ‘superette’. It’s run by two sisters, one of whom is married to a farmer, so it’s a great place for local farm produce, and the eggs are always ultra-fresh.

It really can’t get much more local for me than this, because I took this photograph through my own front window.
That’s my neighbour Albert, keeping a watchful eye on one of his last few ewes as she takes her lamb from the barn over to the pasture, which is on the other side of the road that you can see at the top of the picture.
Sad to say, Albert died earlier this year. You can just see his faithful dog, Arielle, behind him. That’s about as far apart as they ever were: Arielle pined away and died about two weeks after Albert.
