My first contribution to the Thursday Doors challenge hosted by Norm 2.0.
This matching door and shutters can be found in the hamlet of Navaleuil, about two kilometres from home here at Tranquility Base. Compared to the smaller doors on the left, it also shows what a difference a lick of paint can make.

That is gorgeous! Welcome and thanks for joining us this week 🙂
Welcome to the challenge, one of the most enjoyable ones around. French doors and shutters are some of my favorite things. I like not only that combination in your photo but the way you set up the photo, catching the rustically beautiful stone, the tiles of the roof, the other door, and the fall colors.

You’re very kind, but I cheerfully confess to a bit of judicious cropping.
Judicious cropping is always allowed. 🙂
Repetition of color must really enhance that scene in autumn. Lovely.
Thanks very much. This particular house is especially photogenic in autumn, it must be said.
I love all the different textures in this shot. Great point of view as well. Welcome to “Thursday Doors”.!
Thank you kindly. I confess that I was a bit worried that there just might be too much going on in the shot, but it seems to have worked out okay.
I just love those shutters. Beautiful photograph.
Thank you. I hope to be able to afford some for my own house one day!
The door, surround and shutters are handsome, but the walls are extremely interesting as well. Great shot. 🙂
Thank you. This is pretty typical construction – as regards both style and materials – round here, so there’s no shortage of great photographic subjects without straying too far.
So gorgeous!
That looks a very familiar scene Mr Deadhead – except for the stonework style, here it’s all limestone but the battered and weathered doors and shutters are clearly an inter-regional feature!
Yes, I guess the Limousin isn’t a million miles from your very agreeable-looking hillside.
Ah, that’s where you are, I imagine the Limousin to be a little wilder than the Charente and a different kind of beautiful?!
Well, certainly the eastern part of Limousin – Correze and Creuse – is pretty remote, but in fact I’m only two or three miles from the border with Charente. Beautiful certainly, though: gently undulating land and lots of trees. We love it.
🙂
I looked at your various door posts and they are great.
Thank you, that’s really kind.
Just love this whole scene! The fall leaves against the red shutters – sublime!
