Blue appears to have been a consistently popular colour over time:
But natural brown will always be the predominant colour for old doors – even if the shutters are blue:

thr word that kept coming to mind – was STRONG STRONG STRONG
feel such sturdiness with doors in these old stone structures –
and the hardware and colors were nice to enjoy in each one – the bits of greenery and weeds in a few of the photos added something – hm
