October’s Last Photo
Posted on November 1, 2022
Autumn is now well advanced, but this borage has appeared only recently. We have seen a few in the past couple of years, all emanating from a bag of mixed wildflower seeds that were sewn in, and until now confined to, raised flower beds, but this one obviously jumped over the side and managed to make its escape.

Halfway there

Heading west from our house, it’s about a mile to the nearest ‘main’ (everything is relative) road. This stretch of the glorified track is at about the halfway mark.

Coffee Time
Posted on September 21, 2022
This highly decorative coffee service can be found at the Chateua de la Mercerie, in the Charente region of central France. It’s probably totally impractical (and certainly not dishwasher safe), but it is at least replete with curves and circles for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week.

Stacked chairs
Posted on September 17, 2022
The centre of social life in our nearest village is the salle polyvalente – in effect, the local village hall. It hosts all kinds of meeting and functions and its furniture – including these remarkably uncomfortable chairs – are stacked neatly in another building, just behind the salle itself.

Magenta

I don’t know what these flowers are called, but I’d certainly say that the petals are tinged with magenta.
