Imperial Purple

The topic for Cee’s Midweek Challenge this week is ‘Imperial Purple’. I really don’t suit a toga so I thought this could prove to be something of a problem.

However, I remembered that at the Fête des Fleurs In Magnac-Laval last month I had seen this rather striking purple flower.

Irresistible buds

The ants just can’t stay away from the juice that oozes from these buds.

A World Of pink

The theme for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is certainly a broad one: ‘found in nature’. It’s almost harder to find something that isn’t.

October’s Last Photo

Autumn is now well advanced, but this borage has appeared only recently. We have seen a few in the past couple of years, all emanating from a bag of mixed wildflower seeds that were sewn in, and until now confined to, raised flower beds, but this one obviously jumped over the side and managed to make its escape.

Magenta

I don’t know what these flowers are called, but I’d certainly say that the petals are tinged with magenta.

Hydrangea – A closer View

It’s macro week in Cee’s midweek challenge, so let’s take a closer look at the hydrangea from my previous post.

Hydrangea

The theme for the Fun Foto Challenge this week is something that reminds us of nature’s beauty.

I seem to recall from my distant days as a Philosophy undergraduate that there is quite some debate as to whether ‘beauty’ exists anywhere other than the eye of the beholder. However, it’s hard to argue against the view that this hydrangea – a recent addition to our garden- fits the bill on this occasion.

Can’t Go Wrong With Raindrops

Captured on the wet morning of a recent coach trip, you just can’t go wrong with raindrops on flowers, can you?

What’s Eating Our Clematis?

Some tiny creature obviously took a fancy to this clematis bud before it got the chance to flower.
