Confession time. This is, in fact, a photograph of a painting. However, it’s a very striking piece of art with an image of three dandelion heads.
It was actually hanging on a bedroom wall of a holiday cottage where we were staying a couple of weeks ago, but it certainly fits the brief of ‘Circular Wonders’ for this week’s Lens-Artists Challenge.

It’s not just the Sistine Chapel that boasts a fancy ceiling. This one is in the Henri Toulouse-Lautrec museum in Albi, which is housed in the former Bishops’ Palace, just a step away from the Cathedral.

Today I am participating for the first time – as it moves into its second year – in the Tuesday Photo Challenge hosted by Frank at Dutch Goes The Photo!
The theme for this week is ‘Mystery’. This photograph shows part of the astonishing painted ceiling in the crypt of the village church of Gargilesse, in central France. Clearly, it’s a religious – specifically Christian and even more specifically Roman Catholic – theme, and as such some of the imagery is familiar, but there’s also some that’s a mystery, at least to me.

This display of individually hand-painted plates outside a shop in Sarlat certainly meets the brief for this week’s challenge of ‘Vibrant’.
