Weekly Photo Challenge: Peek

Another dip into the archives for the Weekly Photo Challenge this time, as I’m still away from home and therefore from full access to my image library.

Here, my grandson takes a peek around the patio door of our apartment in Abu Dhabi. He – and his twin brother – are rather bigger now.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Pedestrian

Pedestrians, but hardly a pedestrian setting.

In Venice, and also on the islands in the Venetian Lagoon, if you’re not in a boat then you have to be a pedestrian. These particular examples of the species are walking alongside one of the small canals on the island of Burano.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Elemental

It’s not the easiest thing to find an image that shows all four primal elements at once.

However, this picture, taken along a lane about a mile from here, undoubtedly conveys three of them: air, water and earth. And since the sun was shining, perhaps that could be taken for fire. In any case, it’s a tranquil rural scene.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflecting

Perfect reflections of the Pont Vieux on the River Vienne as it flows through the town of Confolens.

Weekly Photo Challenge: A Good Match

“A harmonious, pleasing combination” – the old stonework of the Pont Vieux that crosses  the Vienne river as it flows through the town of Confolens on a calm, sunny day.

And what  could be a better match than a reflection – especially when even the tall trees in the background echo the reflection in the water of the lamp post in the middle of the bridge?

Fishing Boat At Anchor

On a very calm and sunny day in the harbour of St Andrews, this little fishing boat was reflected almost perfectly in the still water.

52 Weeks Photo Challenge: Week 17 – Laughter

‘Laughter’ is the theme for this week’s challenge hosted by The Girl That Dreams Awake.

A game of peek-a-boo is guaranteed to produce laughter in a two year old. This photograph of one of my grandsons comes with free reflection.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Shine

Plenty of sunshine reflecting off the lovingly polished chrome of Terry’s Triumph (includes free image of photographer at work).

Weekly Photo Challenge: H2O

You say ‘water’, I think ‘reflections’, as in this example from the Charente River, near Chaniers.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Mirror

A pretty straightforward response to this week’s challenge subject of ‘Mirror’, but I like the way that (fortuitously) the reflected clouds blend with the actual clouds beyond, while the blue sky between the clouds in the mirror itself reflects the curve of the road.

This mirror is at a particularly awkward junction in the nearby town of Le Dorat, although the road was clear when I took the photograph: just as well, because I was probably standing in the middle of it at the time.

And here’s another mirror image, also from Le Dorat and already published in another post, with clouds reflected in one of the metal discs that demarcate parking spaces in the main square:
