The moss on this tree looks like an aerial view of a rain forest until the bark of the tree on which it’s growing puts it into the correct context.

Down by the river in Confolens there’s a dead tree stump, with this growing on it. I’m guessing it’s a fungus of some sort.

I found this moss growing on a tree in the Beecraigs Country Park near Linlithgow in central Scotland. The texture (and colour) of the tree bark is also interesting.
