Lens-Artists Challenge – Last Chance

Since I’m fairly new to the Lens-Artists Challenge, finding an image that I haven’t already used for it this year wasn’t really a problem. In fact, I haven’t posted this image anywhere before, although since I took it in August I’ve been itching for an excuse to put it in a post.

It was taken at a kiddies’ playground near my son’s home in Oxfordshire. Our two-year old grand-daughter gets taken there quite often. so will definitely have crawled through this tunnel many times.

Return of the orange poppies

They’re back. Not so many as yet this year, but still providing a vibrant splash of colour.

Swatters

A close-up look at a small sample of our collection of colourful fly swatters. Hopefully, the fly gets an even closer view – although they usually get away.

The Lizard

I discovered this tiny and very squiggly lizard when I was covering up our garden furniture for the winter. There are lizards everywhere around here but they are typically no more than three inches long and find homes in the stonework of walls and so on. They pose no threat – indeed, they feed on insects that would otherwise attack our plants, so they’re actually quite a boon.

This particular specimen, no more than an inch and a half long, was especially colourful.

Not your average windsock

For this week’s Fun ‘Foto’ Challenge, Cee wants to see at least four colours of the rainbow. This windsock with a full rainbow of colours was seen at the annual Air Show at nearby Blond.

A double helping of biscuits

Based in Nantes, the French biscuit manufacturers Lu (Lefevre Utile) are long-established and happily still producing, even if not in their original factory. Their ‘petits écoliers’ chocolate biscuits – especially the plain chocolate version – cannot be recommended too highly.

Apart from the product itself, Lu’s publicity material is also iconic. This image is of a pair of their advertising signs from around the turn of the last century, and was taken in the Chateau des Ducs museum in Nantes.
