A couple of years ago, we (which is to say Madame) sowed a pack of wild flower seeds at the back of the house. Included in the mix were some orange poppies and they just won’t quit.

Cee is lookung for a combination of orange and green for her Fun Foto Challenge this week. With the stem invisible, this wild orange poppy appears to be floating freely against a green background.

About three years ago, we scattered some seeds of an orange poppy and they keep coming back every year, providing splashes of vibrant colour all over the garden. Like life itself, they come, they age and then they go.

Last year, we (which is to say Madame) sowed a selection of wild flowers in a couple of raised beds in our garden. This year we have a colourful swathe of bright orange poppies, which have obviously self-seeded.
Monochrome, however, helps to bring out the detail of the heart of the flower.
