This week the theme is the timely one of ‘Everything Spring’. Up here in the northern hemisphere it’s the time for planting and growing.
This little fella, just planted out in of our raised beds, will – if al goes according to plan – eventually provide us with some Brussels sprouts: chou de Bruxelles.

This particular specimen of one of the flowers that came from the wild flower mix we sewed last summer rapidly outstripped – outgrew – all the rest. Shooting it from below – not that I had much choice – as it reaches for the sky reinforces the impression of ‘growth’.

Normally, I’m not a great one for visiting garden centres, but whoever runs this one, near my parents’ house in the UK, obviously has a sense of humour.

The back wall of our laverie (we use it as a utility room) is supported by a buttress. Our very clever builders used this to create a potting shed for Madame; they also made this nice little door for it.
