Not The Way I’d Have Put It

The owners of this beauty parlour in the town of St. Junien clearly believed that their special offer on suncare products was especially worthy of note.

Public art is indeed a very broad category.

A House Divided

One thing at least we can agree on: there are two ms in’ Marmite’. Accordingly, this image qualifies for Cee’s Midweek Challenge this week.

Traditionally, there is no middle way when it comes to Marmite: you either love it or you hate it. Personally, I am strongly of the latter persuasion, but Madame loves it – particularly with the added refinement of salad cream.

Don’t judge us.

I suppose it could be worse: she might support Everton.

Shoot me now…

52 Week Smartphone Challenge: 36 Habits

This week, the Smartphone Challenge is “Some habits are good, and some are bad. Your inspiration this week is either”.

To the best of my knowledge, I am entirely devoid of good habits, so that narrows it down a bit.

However, I have it on the very highest authority that, among a plethora of bad habits, my alleged inability to close cupboard doors properly ranks very highly in terms of irritation-generating capacity.

Dunno what all the fuss is about….

Monday Window – Le Dorat

The nearby town of Le Dorat hosted the ‘Mondial de Tonte’ (that’s the world sheep-shearing championships) back in July. For such an occasion, the place was, naturally, ‘en fête’, with most shop doors and windows being decorated with amusing pictures such as this one:

This way to the dumpster

This hand-made – and most definitely unofficial – signpost in the city of Cahors, in southern France, points the way to a number of exotic locations. And Brussels.

However, the most practical pointer is probably the one which shows the way to the nearest benne à ordures: the garbage dumpster.

Tuesday Photo Challenge: Signs

Normally, I’m not a great one for visiting garden centres, but whoever runs this one, near my parents’ house in the UK, obviously has a sense of humour.
