L’Escalier
Posted on April 29, 2021
For Cee’s midweek challenge she is looking for an image of something that either begins or ends with the letter ‘E’.
You may think that what you’re looking at here is a staircase (more specifically, one in the Abbaye de la Reau) and of course you would be quite correct. And it ends with an E. However, the French word for staircase is ‘escalier‘. Beginning or end, it’s your choice.

Let There Be Light
Posted on April 28, 2021
Cee’s challenge for this ‘assignment’ is to juxtapose natural and man-made light.
This photograph shows the interior of the old church in the ancient village of Saint Cirq Lapopie. On the wall on the right is the natural light of the sun, but the rest of the illumination is provided by the sunlight passing through the man-made stained glass widows.

Rural Toys

If you grow up in the countryside, chances are that you’ll be playing with country toys….
….and when you don’t play with them any more, you collect them..

Shiny Scent Bottles
Posted on April 21, 2021
This week’s Fun Foto challenge is looking for something shiny. These perfume bottles were part of a collection that was displayed at a ‘hobbies’ expo a couple of years ago.

The Die Is Cast

Smaller than a breadbin (as per Cee’s Black & White Challenge this week).? Most definitely.
I took this photo with my smartphone, then applied the ‘Pinhole Camera’ filter in Photoshop Express for added interest.

Green, Green Glass
Posted on April 15, 2021
It’s colour week for Cee’s Midweek Challenge this week and the chosen colour is light or neon green.
Handily, another of the panes of stained glass in the suncatcher that I featured a couple of weeks ago here fits the bill, and is a pleasingly abstract image (which reminds me a little of a slide under a microscope).

The Rusty Pram
Posted on April 14, 2021
The Fun Foto Challenge this week has the theme of ‘texture’. There’s lots of that in this battered old doll’s baby carriage, not to mention the concreted wall behind it and the gravel beneath.

Popeye The Smuggler

I was surprised to find this model boat at an airshow, of all places. I may never look at Popeye in the same light again.

Rainbow Wool

It’s macro/close-up week for Cee’s Midweek Challenge.
Madame has been knitting recently, using some multi-coloured wool.
